Pre-existing medical conditions Q. Will this policy cover me if I have a pre-existing medical condition? A. Yes, but we will not provide cover if: You are travelling against medical advice You are travelling for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment You are on a hospital waiting list, or are waiting for the results of medical tests or investigations You have received a terminal prognosis from a registered doctor prior to taking out this policy Q. Will this policy cover me if I have a routine health check when I get home? A. Yes, if you are attending a routine check up such as a well woman or well man check you will be covered. You will not be covered for follow-up appointments after surgery, diagnosis or investigations that have been recommended by your doctor or a medical consultant. Residency Q. Can I buy a travel insurance policy if I do not live in the A. No. You must be a resident in the Q. Infants – children under the age of two travel free with an insured adult Q. What age can children travel up to under the family policy? A. The family cover offers cover for up to four children up to the age of 22 years old in full time education and living at the family home. Annual policies Q. Can children in full time education be covered under a family annual policy? A. Yes, providing you have purchased a ‘family’ annual policy up to 4 children are covered. To be eligible for a ‘family’ annual policy, all children must be living at home, be aged up to and including the age of 22 on the date cover commences and must be in full time education. Q. Does the Annual Multi Trip policy cover include wintersports cover? A. No. Winter sports cover is available upon payment of an additional premium. This additional cover will enable you to participate in the wintersports activities, as detailed in the policy wording, for 17 days throughout the year. These days do not have to be taken in one trip, if you are going on two winter sports holidays and the total amount of days that you are away is 17 days or less, you will be covered. Q. If I book a holiday in May to travel in August and my policy is due to expire in July am I covered for cancellation? A. You will be covered for the cancellation of your holiday until July when your policy expires. If you renew your policy in July the cover will continue on. If you allow the policy to lapse you will not be covered for cancellation between the date your policy expired and the date your holiday commences. Participation in sports & leisure activities whilst you are away Q. Is there any cover under the policy for any leisure or sports activities I may participate in during my trip? A. There is cover for some sports and leisure activities; a full list is in the policy definitions section of policy wording. Amending an existing policy Q. I have booked my travel insurance policy via the P&O travel insurance website and wish to amend the policy, what do I do? A. Please call us on 0845 218 7172 to request your changes. Please ensure that you have your policy number, full name and address and the date that you purchased the policy. Cancelling a policy Q. I purchased my travel insurance policy via the P&O travel insurance website and want to cancel my policy, what should I do? If your cover does not meet your requirements please notify us within 14 days of receiving your policy and return all documentation for a refund of your premium. If during this 14 day cooling off period you have travelled, made a claim or intend to make a claim we are entitled to recover all costs that you have used for these services. If you have purchased your policy via the P&O call centre please call 0870 600 9955. If you have purchased your insurance via the internet or through our internet call centre please call 0845 218 7172. Please note that your cancellation rights are no longer valid after this initial 14 day period and there is no provision for a refund. Making a claim Q. Is there a time limit for making a claim under the policy? A. Yes, you must obtain a claim form no later than 31 days after the event. Q How do I make a claim under my policy? A. Please see the menu option ‘how to make a claim’ Notification of the expiry of an annual policy Q. If I have an annual policy, will I be notified of when the policy expires? A. Yes. We will notify you via e-mail of the expiry of your annual policy at least 21 days in advance. |
